The Chinese radios are junk. Who cares anyway shortwave is dead. Right you are ! But, if you post anything negative about SW receivers, this newsgroup will give you a whipping ! Yes, RadioIntel determined that the Eaton **** E1 is no better than the Sony 2010, or the Grundig Satellite 800. As a matter of fact, the E1 has a host of problems - the antenna flops, no handle, no MW or satellite antennas, flimsy knobs/switches, and does not even receive/process IBOC, or DRM. Since SW is starting to convert to DRM, and since it is all-or-nothing, the E1 will eventualy be receiving nothing. Grundig Chinese-made radios are absolute cheap plastic garbage; there has not been a decent radio made, since the Sony 2010, or the DX-440, both of which are much better quality than the E1, at $500. The E1 is assembled in India, but it is still under slave-wages; Grundig used to be made in Germany, which they want consumers to still think, but the sleazy Tecsun/Eton bought the rights to market products under the Grundig name. Hold on, here comes the crowd (RHF and BH) ! |
