Default Points to Ponder

Did you every wonder why it sounds so reasonable for people on this NG to
complain that some conservative political post is off topic (even if it
concerns a shortwave related show issue), and for them to read you the riot
act concerning the purpose of the NG, concerning supposedly equipment
related issues, only to have threads of 30 or more postings of one person
calling another 'tard. Yet no one complains that they are wasting
bandwidth, or that their postings violate the spirit of the shortwave NG.

Kind of makes you wonder. Part of the mystery is that the people that
complain of wasted bandwidth are the ones that most waste bandwidth. I
especially like the Plonk notifications, like anyone really cares that
some individual wasted bandwidth to let the world know that he no longer
wishes to receive postings from so and so. Asinine.

No one is worried about Bandwidth, they simply don't wish to read posts
that offend them, or that cause them to need to think, or they wish to
uphold the time honored political correctness so widespread today.

Just an observation. I'll filter this post after I post it, because it will
be filled with the same 'tard comments that are running rife on this NG.

Well personally I'd prefer it if all the political nonsense and "'tard"
comments were kept out of here and only radio-related issues discussed. But
what ya gonna do? The only way to stop it is to totally ignore it, but
nobody does.

the petty little squabbles around here are so hilarious and entertaining
that they rival shortwave itself as a hobby. one aspect that i enjoy of
sw is hearing certain loony people (you know who they are) say
completely outrageous things in public. this ng also has a certain
amount of that content. often a completely legitimate thread will erupt
into chaos before your very eyes. when it becomes tedious and boring i
quit that thread and look for another interesting post to click on,
perhaps even one that is ON TOPIC! (as rare as that is) some of the
worst flamers here are also some of the most prolific posters of
knowledgable sw content also. as an example a certain guy with his
hot-rod radio who thinks he is better than everyone else is also posting
logs of rare and unusual contacts. if we "plonk" that guy then we will
miss the opportunity to hear a catch that we might never find without
his direction. its your choice to read or not, so choose.

No 'tard boy... Only your little pea brain thinks that I'm better than anyone
else.

But then, you're a 'tard, and you just proved it yet again. Now get your whiney
little ass and your 'Extra Class' license back to the ham bands where you
obviously belong and leave the shortwave to the big boys.
