I ran a pair of 6JG6's driven by a Utica Town&Country II in 1970 as
KCR-1567.

No internet nit-pickers back then to deal with...just some TVI on the family
TV set.

Been a ham now for 30-plus years...a little 11 Meter hi-jinx never hurt me,
or anyone else for that matter.

eBay has no particular interest in closing down auctions, as they get
their money from the seller based on the selling price. I know of at
least one case where they cancelled an auction but told the seller how
he could resubmit to avoid admitting in the listing that the amp covered
CB frequencies. eBay's claim is that it is not their responsibility, it
is the seller's responsibility to make sure what they sell is OK. On a
related not, Tiffany's claims that some huge percentage of Tiffany
material listed on eBay is counterfeit, but eBay says it is not their
problem....

I have to disagree with the "anyone else" part of that.

CB'ers, with their flouting of the law and childish behavior have
brought disrespect toward *all* private radio operators, including
fully licensed and legal hams. It's not as bad now as it was a few
years ago, but the stain still remains. Establishing the Citizens Band
was the worst mistake the FCC ever made, bar none.

Nonsense. eBay cancelled my auction for a perfectly legal Uniden
President ten meter rig (unmodified in any way) because it was
"suspicious". Pack of idiots.

I had an Amplifier I was selling for parts only - to "build" a Ham Amp -
pulled by E-Bay. The thing had NO finals in it. I was offering it only for
the transformer and some other parts.

Strangely, I have seen many amps (CB related) - NOT pulled. Ya really have
to wonder..........

I think ebay typically only pulls auctions when some viewer takes
exception and emails them with a complaint. Often times this is a
"friend" or some do-right with nothing better to do with their time.

No doubt there are hundreds, if not thousands of all kinds of items that
have legality issues. Surely there cannot be someone at ebay that has
global knowledge of these infractions. They have to rely on the
do-rights to bring things to their attention.

You may be right but that doesn't excuse eBay from pulling some items
and not others. eBay is a huge and highly profitable company. There is
no excuse for not doing it right.

At least on 75 they don't go out of their way to sound like a cheap
imitation of Smokey the Bandit.

10-4 good buddy?
