Would EMT conduit hold up this long SURE! But, EMT is a 'soft' aluminum and will require guying and/or other support. It is soft so electricians can bend it around corners. There is also such a thing as aluminum electrical conduit. I am using an 8 foot length as an antenna mast that measures about 1-7/8 OD. There is a tribander directly above to rotator, a 6 meter 7 element beam at the top, and a 2 meter 10 element in the middle. It has been up 7 or 8 years, gone through high winds, and has shown no signs of bending or corrosion. It is fairly soft, but has thick walls; still, a lot lighter than steel. Tam/WB2TT |
