Homebrew Coil Form Factor

I lost several minutes of the nascar race on ESPN and then a while
later on radio, a syndicated program (Bob Brinker) was out for 3 to 6
minutes. It all happened (approximately) between 3:45 and 4:20.
Was that the sun outage?
