questions:

rather than soldering it, (thought it might be stiff and break??) i
used proper sized wire clamps(w/teeth) [two of them , torqued proper]

wonder if a good compression fit is ok, or if eventually corrosion will
make for a poor connection?

it's still new enough i could clen it and solder it


any thoughts? perhaps it's just trivial but i wonder hate to throw off
harmonics

Compression fit is generally good for stranded, deadly for a
moving solid. Bright side: "Eventually" you won't care. :-)

Split bolts are used by electricians.
If you are concerned about corrosion, wrap the joint with good electrical
tape (rated for outdoor usage - UV and temperature range) - some power
companies do this for outdoor connections subject to corrosion, etc.

There is a two-component epoxy putty, I have used this to
water-proof/weather-proof different kludges of mine--even to construct
standoff, insulators and unique hardware bits... my latest stash came from
the 99-cent store... "bondo" can also be used from autosupply stores (used
to fill dents in auto bodies) with good success (strength is somewhat
less)...

You need to buy a roll of cablers seal , sold under different names but
its essentially butyl rubber tape that pressure seal when rapped , only
a few bucks a roll and lasts a decade ( sticks really well but try to
remove it )

I have used that tape, or a product just like it--but prefer the epoxy...
you can work it like clay--strong as steel and apparently excellent
insulating qualities... wonderful stuff really...

seems the jest' is my clamps are ok (my GF liked those little clamps
too)

.... as long as i wrap them up --i used coax seal

i guess a drop of corrosion is not fatel, at least w/all the conditins
my swr is still same 1:1 most bands
