Default New program: RHO_SWR.exe

Program models TRUE measurements of SWR and Rho by moving current and
voltage probes along a transmission line.

Exact classical transmission line formulae used on a real lossy line with a
complex value of Zo = Ro - jXo.

Covers frequencies 20 Hz to 1GHz.

Download from website below program RHO_SWR, 50 kilobytes in a few seconds.

Read introductory notes.

Dear Mr. Reg Edwards,

This sounds to me
as an exactly in the right time program, indeed!
And since at a first look
it gives the impression that supersedes
the COAXPAIR and RJELINE3 programs,
this fact by itself may serves as an excuse
so this time to submit, with your permission of course,
some comments I already concentrate from its study.

Sincerely yours,

Dear Mr. Reg Edwards,

Firstly, I have to correct myself:
Definitely, RHO_SWR does not supersedes
the COAXPAIR and RJELINE3a programs.

Secondly,
in what is following,
which seems to me as a correction to an obviously misprint,
take once again into account please,
that English is not my native language...

Program: RHO_SWR.EXE/ 49,576 bytes

"M(ore notes)"

Lines from the Top of the 1st M(ore notes) Screen:
-------------------------------------------------
[2] beteen -to- between
[2] permi- -to- perm-
[3] ttivity -to- ittivity

Lines from the Bottom of the 1st M(ore notes) Screen:
----------------------------------------------------
[2] indication -to- indicate (?)
[2] flow -to- [be canceled as pleonasm]
[6] flowing -as- [above 2]
[8] flowing -as- [above 2]
[9] flowing -as- [above 2]

Lines from the Top of the 2nd M(ore notes) Screen:
-------------------------------------------------
[2] value. -to- [be canceled as it is repeated from the end of the previous line]
[4] nepers -to- nepers/mile (?)
[5] radians -to- radians/mile (?)

Lines from the Bottom of the 2nd M(ore notes) Screen:
----------------------------------------------------
[6] of -to- [be canceled as it is repeated from the end of the previous line]

Finally,
could you tell me please what is the meaning of "TLI"?

Sincerely yours,

pez

Thank you Pez for the list of corrections needed in the text of the notes.

The program was a rush job to stop a war. No time for checking text.

Does anybody want his money back?

However I have thoroughly checked for correct mathematical functioning and
that the program does accurately serve its intended purpose - assisting
with plotting TRUE SWR along a transmission line.

TLI = "Transmitter Loading Indicator".

This is the new 21st century name for the so-called but mis-named SWR meter
which does NOT measure SWR and in any case there is no transmission line on
which SWR can be measured.

The TLI does in fact do what its name says - it indicates whether or not
the transmitter is correctly loaded.
