It finally happened. Houston's only commercial classical music station,
KRTS 92.1, is dark. Well, not exactly. It is now KROI, with a format of the worst music of the Nam era -- the whiny, twangy crap. Thanks to satellite and Internet-- Houston has a number of choices for classical music. That's probably one of the reasons KRTS cashed out. They're competing against the new technologies-- not just the non-comm down the dial-- for the classical audience. |
