Default Any links to pics of APRS setup?

Does anyone have links to pictures of mobile APRS setups? I think I know how I
want to set mine up, but I'd like to see pics of what other hams have done.

There's a lot more there than just my APRS radio, but...

http://www.bluefeathertech.com/kc7gr/thevan.html

The APRS transceiver, as mentioned earlier, is a converted
Motorola Mitrek. You'll see it on the upper shelf, just below the power
inverter. The Kantronics is secured to its topside with industrial-
strength Velcro.

The GPS receiver is a Garmin-15 series OEM engine, in a mil-
surplus housing, right next to the Mitrek. To the left of the Mitrek,
barely visible in the shot, is a little DC injector (also called a
'Bias-Tee') that, in my case, was required to make my GPS antenna happy
(it required 12V bias as opposed to the more usual 5V).

Said receiver has a single serial output that is dual-connected to
both the TNC and computer. Seems to work pretty well.

Keep in mind that, based on what you've posted before, my setup is
probably more effort than you would want to go to, especially where the
onboard computer is concerned. However, you asked for pictures of APRS
setups, soooo...... ;-)

Hi,
I've been following the thread and I missed what it is you are trying to
accomplish. If what you want to do is put a blip on an APRS map and
thats all then I suggest getting the TinyTrakIII.
http://www.byonics.com/tinytrak/.
It is simple to build, costs 40.00 bucks and interfaces with any KPC
product cable 16.00 http://www.packetradio.com/!TNCables/KV2RSRJ45.jpg
http://www.packetradio.com/%21TNCables/KV2RSRJ45.jpg (this one is for
the htx-212) you may already have a cable for the KPC that you own.
Buy an old rig, conect the tinytrack to the radio cable, connect the GPS
(used ETREX cheap) to the other end of the TinyTrack (standard GPS to
DB9 Serial connection) and turn it on. You are now putting an APRS
signal out on 144.390 simplex, No PL. I can now see you from my home in NJ.
If you want the GPS to work in the city or in a heavily wooded or Valley
area then you will need a GPS that has an external antenna connector on
it. Garmin GPSMAP 76 or Garmin 12XL. If you are getting a GPS anyway I
would suggest you bite the bullet and get the GPSMAP 76. Now you can see
where you are in the world on a selfcontained map on the GPS. No wires
hanging around to a PDA.

If what you want to do is more than that then spend the bucks and get
the Kenwood TM D700. That simple! Any other way you do it will put more
wires in your car than any wife will allow and my wife is a Ham. N2TVM
Have Fun
Please call if you need help. just drop me an email and ill send you the no.
