The junkfest season starts here next weekend, and I've been
thinking about searching for a newer, more capable low band rig. My current rig is an old TS-820S which I am very pleased with. Steve- It would appear you have described a TS-830, although I don't know if it has Six Meters. I can't think of any other Kenwood rig that would meet your requirements. (Isn't there a TS-870?) 73, Fred, K4DII |

WARC bands, 100 watts out, internal power supply Good luck! I would think you already own one of the last rigs made with tube finals. Probably not much else available of later vintage. Ed |

How much money do you plan on putting into the rig ? While the tube finals are what you want, it may be time to rethink that to the solid state finals as the tubes (inexpensive) and tube rigs are getting harder to come by. By now some of them are getting old enough that the capacitors are starting to give problems. |

Sounds like you are looking for a Kenwood TS-530S or TS-830S. The built-in
12 volt power supply kind of rules out tube finals, except for the old TS-520, which doesn't have WARC. Ditto for the 6M, not too much tube output stuff did that. If you drop the requirement for tube finals, it's easy, except for the built-in power supply. "Steve" wrote in message ... I'm hoping for some model numbers to start with. Thanks! Steve |

A few also have 6 meters. Look at the "product reviews" at eham.net. That will be the best way to familiarize yourself with what might be out there. Bob k5qwg |
