I use a friend laptop which is a 1.2 gig cpu and has serial port and it
takes just 4 to 5 minutes to upload a program.and on the other hand mine is 2.4 with a usb to serial with same program and it takes me 20 minutes to upload same program to same item. "Kenneth Crudup" wrote in message ... In article C6nof.4177$Bj4.3661@trndny01, "N1RSP" says: The problem with usb to serial converter is that it runs way too slow on most programs I use. Interesting, 'cause I use my USB-enabled serial port to download data into flash onto my clients' boards at 115.2K at full speed and with negligible CPU usage. Maybe it's a settings problem? What does "too slow" mean exactly? -Kenny -- Kenneth R. Crudup Sr. SW Engineer, Scott County Consulting, Los Angeles H: 3630 S. Sepulveda Blvd. #138, L.A., CA 90034-6809 (310) 391-1898 |
