I found an interesting article on the web about sundials, and one particular
manufacturer who claimed that, provided you followed their installation
instructions precisely, their sundial could be read to an accuracy of one
minute!
ISTR they calculated the rotation and tilt from your latitude / longitude.
No Summer Time correction, of course, and not much use at night, unless you
use a torch!
