![]() "N9OGL" wrote in message Rules that need to be changed §97.113 Prohibited transmissions. (a) No amateur station shall transmit: (5) Communications, on a regular basis, which could reasonably be furnished alternatively through other radio services. That needs to remain in place, Todd. It was put in force to prevent amateurs from utilizing the ham bands for commercial purposes, and to prevent the amateur service from unfairly competing with commercial services. Without that rule, those providing such services would have every right to file grievances with the FCC. Also, without that rule, there would be more congestion on the ham bands. 73, Jeff KH6O -- Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Coast Guard Mathematics Lecturer, University of Hawaii System |
