We're trying. So far I've logged two r.r.a.p regulars and am always looking
for more. Was also lucky enough to work W0EX before his untimely passing.
Sadly, not N0BK though. The net is named in honor of these two SK's. (n0Bk &
w0eX, hence BXNet.)

Please feel free to check in. It's a whole lot more fun OTA, than on the NG.

Perhaps we could do a phone net on 7237? Not tonight, though.

Name a night, perhaps Mondays at 8:00 PM (0000z) before the CW net? I'd

have
to dig up a mic thoough.

Come to think of that...it is a good idea. That way real hams can make fun
of the phone only types and they wont have a clue.

The PCTA claim they aren't elitist.

One more posting showing how old-fashioned and ELITIST they
really are.

Dan, get a new eyeshade and little garters to hold up your
shirtsleeves. Be a good little telegrapher. The 1920s may come
again and you will be ready as ever for that time...polish up that
Spark transmitter...

Yeah, why not ssb and CW versions?

Getting past the usual RRAP nonsense and getting a bit serious for
once I'd like toss out a thought. RRAP on-the-air getogethers have a
(very short) history and some lessons came out of that history. In the
first of these sessions a few years ago it turned out to be something
of a "long distance" CW round table. PA to CA, MN to TX, everybody
copied everybody Q5 at 0130Z +/-. Almost. Helluva lot of fun. But copy
this: Both N2EY and I are both in the Philly area. AC6XG didn't
exactly overload the front end of my RX but nearby N2EY was even
weaker and I had a bad time with copying him. There wasn't much
groundwave propagation between Jim and so poof, he skipped right over
me. No surprise there considering the freq and time of day.

So I have a suggestion. Or two. From what I can tell all the current
crop of parties interested in pulling off another one of these
sessions be it CW or ssb or both are all rather close together in the
mid-Atlantic states. Without further droning on on my part here you
guys might consider moving the effort to 80/75M if you try it after
dark or maybe on 40M during some weekend mid-afternoon when the gods
of propagation usually smile more favorably on medium and short haul
HF comms.
