of today (if it was a flag rank) would NOT have
such detailed personnel records of two dozen
years ago to verify anyone...except other high
staff officers listed by name and rank in a unit
historical summary. Is a marine "wing" large
enough for star rank as a commander? That hasn't
been explained.

Acutally, the Marine Corps keeps rather definitive records...Going
back to the beginning of the Marine Corps in 1775.

up on the very specific details you were given...
