If you can open it up, see if you can unplug the display - either pull the display out of the socket or pull the connector off the display (very carefully). Blow the connector out and wipe the card edge of the display with a lint-free cloth (linen or a clean t-shirt). Sitting a drawer for years can make the connection between the display and the connector oxidize, so some of the signals aren't getting through. Then, again, the display could just have gone bad. But cleaning the connection won't cost anything. |
