It is unencrypted.
It is a single channel repeater that is digital apco25. I really doubt I'd have any issues with phone or private interconnects being a single channel system. I'm also not really looking for a listening audience. It is more for a few local friends that do not own digital radios. I guess I will make the system available but I think I'll hide the link and also require logon. Then I should be OK unless my friends give out the info! I still question the legality however. wrote in message ... On Wed, 3 Nov 2004 02:02:09 -0600, "Ralph" wrote: I see a bunch of sites that rebroadcast scanner audio from the city they live in. I wonder if this is actually legal to do? As long as it is UNENCYRPTED government radio communications then you can do whatever you like with it. However, you better careful about stray phone calls or private communications. There were a lot more live scanners on the Internet years ago, but the practice has faded and you will find very little interest in it if you set one up. |
