Mr Conrade, despite 50 years in radio, does not understand neraly all
analog
FM listening comes in the 64 dbu contour. At that point, the HD signal is
also rubust.

4) HD Radio: Where are the 1300 stations?:

Over 1000 on air, 1000 licenced and building (there is a backlog from
Harris, BE and Nautel) and 1000 mor ecommitted. That takes care of over
70%
of the US population.

5) Radio Industry Showing Signs Of Doubt About HD

Inaccurate reporting.

http://www.audiographics.com/agd/022006-1.htm

iBiquity is well financed, and radio has invested over $200 million just
in
hardware already.

More ****ing spin, from the spin-doctor king !

That whole site has something to do with Harry Helms, another DXer who is
anti-radio. Much of the data is just flat wrong.

Gotcha good this time, Eduardo ! BTW, looks like I have chased
autopaint-1 off the radio-intel.com site, he will be protected from all
the anti-IBOC truth, so he doesn't have to face it - the HD moderators
are all pro-IBOC - they make a final insult, then lock the thread.
See, you over there, mother****er !

You know the F in F 50/50 stands for?

FICTIONAL!

64 dBu on a 20' pole in the middle of a parking lot. Give me a real
world break!

Harry Helms is a prick. We can agree on that.

Based on extensive studies of Arbitron diary returns, 95% of all listening
(quarter hours) happens in the 64 dbu contour, however it is measured. The
fact is, outside that contour, there is little listening.

Why? Have you found some more lies to post?

On the other hand, I am going to work on the HD2 formats for two more LA
radio stations this week.

That's geography. Little don't mean none. The smart people don't
live in the city.

Sorry, but advertisers are not interested in people outside the metro (MSA).

It will never catch on. There are about 200 million car radios
out there who can't rx the digital signal and you would be hard
pressed to find 1000 people who would toss their car radios
just to be able to get the IB signal. Just like Siruis and XM
this to is destined for the scrap heap in a Year's or 2's time at best.
