It must be the beginning of DX weather again. Laying in bed the past
several nights I have heard clear station I.D.'s for the CBC broadcast from Winnipeg, Manitoba on 990 kHz and for WFLA from Tampa, Florida on 540 kHz, 1012 and 992 miles respectively from my location in WNY. I knew 540 was likely Florida because I tuned in during the forecast when the weatherman was predicting temperatures in the upper (humid) 80's. Actually, I found reception of Winnipeg more surprising because I had never heard even a whisper of it before on any radio. Makes me wonder if they changed their antenna pattern. As I have often written before, kudos to Sangean for producing such a fun little radio. |
