HD radio means Half Dead radio

It's not a portable. It's a portable in the same sense that a 13" or 19" AC-powered television sets have been called "portable" in sales literature and advertisements. Maybe something you can carry from room to room, but still have to plug into a light socket, as opposed to a console that is placed in one spot in the room..
