Was there any effect from the "Tsunami Song" shtunk on their "Hot 97" station in New York? No. The issue here is poor overall performance of the company, mostly based in the Chicago and LA clusters. Citadel and Emmis are in penny-stock territory and CC is history - your whole industry, plus HD Radio, are headed for the toilet. Clear Channel is going private... meaning investment bankers believe it has greater value than the market is giving it. Good example: SBS has a market cap today that is below the market value of just one of its NY FMs, and they have twenty-some additional stations and a TV operation on top of that. In other words, were SBS shares more widely held, it would be a huge buy-out candidate. |
