My point was that he would still trounce any other candidate. Like him or
not, he was and remains a popular favorite. Of course he is, as you point out, inelegible. -- Brian Denley http://home.comcast.net/~b.denley/index.html "Tex" wrote in message ... Nonetheless, you are still wrong. Democratic insiders are ecstatic that the Clintons are finally being purged from the power structure. Bill Clinton was a disaster for the Party and insiders still are angry at him for costing them majorities in both the House and Senate during his scandal ridden administration. Read Teddy Kennedy's remarks about the possibility of Hillary being on the ticket with Obama. He officially distanced the Democratic Party from the Clintons. They represent exactly what the Party doesn't want (polarization) during this unique window of opportunity the disastrous Bush regime has opened for them. They've hit the lottery and are going to gain control of the White House, the Senate and the House and they aren't going to let a Clinton screw it up for them again. So for your "hypothetical" to be true the Slickster would first have to be able to get the Party's nomination and that wouldn't happen (even if he were constitutionally eligible ). |
