Default CB interferencee to tv sets in the 70s and 80s

Yes, a lot of people recieved interference from cb radios on their tv
sets in the 70s and 80s.

However, despite what was said recently, the majority of these were
NOT caused by CB radios operating with illegal power.

The majority of interference was on tv channel 5 and caused by legal
power CB radios.

Cable tv did not exist in most areas yet. Cale tv was not even
available here until the middle of 1989.

People used OTA TV antennas back then.

Check the first, second, and third harmonics of 27.185 mhz (CB channel
19)

And check the frequency of tv channel 5.

THAT was the cause of most CB interference to tv sets back then.

It was NOT the CB operators' faults.
