Maybe that's how those old school clocks got synched,
the ones whose hands moved visibly faster until they read correctly?
Supposed to happen during the night but after an electrical storm blackout, you
could see it happen during class.

That's a Honeywell kind of clock; way more sophisticated. The big
Western Union clocks ran on A batteries and had a pendulum.

My clocks are updated daily by WWVB. Except this one right here, which

used in England, Wales and Scotland is the same as GMT, in the summer they

GMT is a "Reference" time and does not change. Every other timezone has
an "offset" to the reference (GMT) and the offset for British Winter
Time is "0 hours"

Yes, you are correct. My friends in the UK are now 11 hours behind us as
we are on AEST and they have just come off BST either last weekend or
the weekend before. The time difference plays merry hell with our Skype
sessions.

It's a bit like countries that call themselves the "Democratic Republic
of"... whatever ... are usually as far from democracy as they can get.
DX Ace is about as far from being an ace as it is possible to get and he
just keeps on proving that time and time again.
