Google it ![]() Turns out they were originally used to ferry people to/from oil rigs, but not in Vietnam, in the Gulf of Mexico. It was that type of boat, or something reasonably close, that the Navy had someone build when they realized they needed a boat with that type (use in shallow water) of capability.
