Default Ace, How is MW DX up in Michigan?

Ace, here in South Florida, the MW DX sucks due to all the damn Cuban
stations being on almost every frequency and blasting north. Plus, all the
local stations seem to be on every frequency 24/7 also! Used to pull in 880
WCBS very well, even over the Cuban, now a station in Miami is using 880,
calling itself "The Biz", and now I can barely pick up NYC! Same thing with
WPHT 1210, Cuban AND a Miami station on the frequency! Would love to pick
up some Canadian AM/NE stations and anything west of the Mississippi! Only
good DX was above 1600 when I got St. Thomas.

Just curious ... Are you interested in DXing Central & South American
stations? Seems like Florida would be a great location for that.

Not really, more interested in the Northeast, Midwest, west of the
Mississippi, Canada. You are right, Florida is great for Central and South
American stations, they flood us all night, and the Miami Spanish stations
smother us during the day!

Surely you can pickup the "Big One - 700 WLW" .....correct? Of course
I know it's 50,000 watt - I was just wondering.

Yes, we can hear WLW here in Michigan. No HD interference on that
frequency yet.

I could hear a station in Spanish on 730 kHz for a while then it faded
out. I would not mind hearing a few Cubans, What frequencies are the
strongest?

You could try CFZM on 740 if clear. Its a 50KW oldies station in
Toronto. It is strong here.

At times, when the Dade County Spanish station on 710 is not spilling over.
I wish that it were still 500,000 watts like before and during the war.
