Aluminum is just not that expensive. Aluminum is even easy to cast and
machine. And, I for one, would pay the additional cost of having a

rigs. I miss the cabinets though ... I am surprised China doesn't catch
on that a radio in an aluminum cabinet would take the country by storm.

My aluminum wheels on my 1996 4-wdrive have been exposed to every bad
corrosive process the elements can come up with, acid raid and road salt
just to mention a couple ... a radio in my home would fair much better;
And, the rims still look excellent!

I love it when someone mentions a non-issue ... however, I do have some
old military equipment in the basement which is aluminum cased. It
would have to be polished and repainted ... was made in the 1940's.

I guess wood cases has an attraction for some, not me. I even like my
laptops in an aluminum case ... this time I couldn't find one. They
have ALL (well, except one MAC I found) to plastic ... perhaps you would
favor a computer in a wood case? Maybe pull one apart and stuff it in a
cigar box ... I wonder how long before all cigar boxes become plastic?

rain/salwater. My 50 year-old R-648 /ARR41 (was forced to sell it at
one point) was kept indoors and was absolutely immaculate
cosmetically . It didn't look like an alloy or anodized at all.
