The guy who sits in the box telling the time 24hours a day, 7 days a week
for all these years is finally tired of it all. So they are really giving
him a two day vacation, the first since WWV moved to Colorado over fifty
years ago.

Pretty much what happened ... actually since 1966 there were 3 (three!)different male voice announcers at WWV: Don Elliot Heald , John Doyle and Lee Rodgers.
WWV could have doubled their ratings if they had used Orson Welles,
William Conrad and the great JACK WEBB.
WWV will be OFF the AIR .
