Hi...
The past few days have been VERY bad for me here in North NJ as far as DX'ing. The noise level is out of hand. "HSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!! " Is it local or somthing global ??? The point I guess is that some natural phenomena are messing up radio waves. |

Shortwave propagation relies entirely on "natural phenomena"... thass iss why reception varies by time (i.e. daylight/darkness at both transmitter and receiver), by date (because of same variations), by frequency (that's why broadcasters change frequency), by sunspot cycle, by.... well, you get the picture. SW isn't the same as turning on your AM-FM portable and getting the Local Station at Perfect Levels. |
