Default Grundig Help!

Have a Grundig Satellit 800 that was great till yesterday, I turned it on &
all I get is a static type clicking noise, the strength meter moves with the
clicks. I remember hearing when I first bought it there was a problem with
some of them, was this the problem. It is around 2+ years old so I guess out
of warranty. Any idea of what the problem could be ?

Turn the radio on and cycle through all four bands. Does that help?

Thanks for the reply, tried cycle all bands did not help. Noise sounds like
a jack hammer type noise with static.

Try running it on batteries. Maybe your power supply is shot.

Thanks for the reply. Just tried batteries only, same problem. Guess that
eliminates the electric power supply. Any other ideas????

Damm, I am looking at getting one of these soon and certainly don't want it
to crap out after 2 years. I am looking the the refurbished units from
Universal. Hopefully the quality on those radios is better than alot of the
ones I have been reading about recently.

Let's say this guys radio does need work, would he send it back to Grundig,
or ?? Does anyone know someone that is good with the Grundig radios?

SR,

When All Else Fails - Try This:
* Remove A/C Power
* Remove Batteries
* Wait 24 Hours to 48 Hours
* Insert Batteries
* Turn-On Radio

No Logic Required - If It Works... It WORKS !

My 2010 lost its synch detector on USB (would not hold frequency but
drifted indefinitely) and healed itself about six months later.

My Sat. 800's synch detector will go through periods where it will be unable
to lock onto any frequency (it just howls like a banshee while trying to get
a lock). But it does go back to normal; it may take minues or hours but it
gets better sooner or later.

JIAW,

1. Usually Low Batteries.

2. Check your Antenna for poor or loose 'connections'.
