Had to do a bit of driving today; the roads were so salt covered I ran out of
windshield washer fluid.

mergin onto a freeway on ice is a matter of skill, nerve, tomfoolery , Hubris
& dumb luck

Drove for 45 minutes, Got sunburnt from the glare off the roads..

3.6 degrees with howling winds outside.. going into the sub digits..

Just LOVE dat Wiinter Weather !

Guess I got a question at this point: Can transistors get freezer burn?

Here's what real cold looks like (URL below). They may break the all
time record of -47/F tonight. If so, the wind chill could be lower than
-100/F! It's warmer on Mars.

The colder a transistor gets the lower it's thermal noise. That means
our receivers would be even better for DX'ing. This is why the
front-ends of radio telescopes are cryogenically cooled.

Yup. Someone goes out every hour to collect data. They recorded the
highest wind speed on earth in 1934. It was 230-mph. The main building
is rated for winds up to 300-mph.
