You undoubtedly listen to FM radio. Are you a DJ? Do you have your own talk
show? No? Why not, they wouldn't hire you? "JJ" wrote in message ... chocolate rabbit wrote: meaningless ranting deleted Jay SWL for 26 yrs So you were SWL for 26 years and never could pass the test for a ham license. |

Dropping the code requirement for HF will give QST advertisers a larger market
to sell more overpriced whiz bang rigs. By the way... If a person only just memorizes the code, he/she will be able to copy 5 wpm. There are only about 40 characters involved, including required specials. Which reminds me... At a Red Cross drill, some guy was telling my late wife, N5GIN (Tech Plus), that he couldn't seem to learn the code. Then he said something to her about her smoking would damage her brain. She told him that she learned the code and got her ham ticket, even after having a mild stroke at that. So what was his excuse? Hi hi! Bill, K5BY |

Nobody's buying ham gear except for on e-Bay where you chances of getting "E-screwed" on that "perfect condition used radio" are better than 7 to 1. Actually, I got 2 Icom handhelds for that price from HRO. They sure beat FRS for keeping contact withs the kids. Getting a tech liscense for the kids isn't too hard either. You get a whole family of hams that don't need to pick of a cell phone around town. They don't need FRS with it's crowded bands and you get much greater range. Tracy |
