A few weeks ago some surviving episodes of the predecessor show "Sam and
Henry" were on the newsgroups. "Art Harris" wrote in message om... wrote: The original "Amos & Andy" broadcasts are available on CD for anyone who enjoys that kind of thing. Really Art? It WILL be gone also because no one is going to acquire the original scripts (he won't sell em'~*he'd burn then first IMO~* and do the voices like he does. It's pretty sad IMO, that show is a HUGE part of Americana and just because cheap butts won't send it two dollars but listen to it, people like me aren't going to get to hear it anymore and I was just getting into the characters and storyline. The original "Amos & Andy" broadcasts are available on CD for anyone who enjoys that kind of thing. Art Oh? Only a few of the original broadcasts of A&A from the era that Ed Boulton is re-creating have survived. Even though the show was distributed to radio stations nationwide on LP, the records carried a label that said "destroy after broadcast" as the creators were afraid of unauthorized use. So what Ed is doing on WBCQ is truly recreating lost broadcasts, just like he says. |

See: http://tinyurl.com/2ecnz Hey, if you enjoy Ed's show, send him some money. But the fact that he has to buy time to do his broadcast shows that there's not much interest in this kind of thing.
