What power do TIS run?
I am picking up a TIS on 1610 from Winchester Ky at S3. That is about 30 miles due east of me. The station is a low bitrate digital job. The bit rate is so low that it is prety distorted. And it sounds like they program it over a phone line. Real high quality audio. Not! I think the ID is "72W9Uk398" "Winchester Clark County Emergency Management travelers information radio station operating on 1610 AM. This station was funded by the Chemical Stockpile Preparedness Program...." The Army has a WWII stock pile of nerve agents located about 30 miles south west of Winchester. They have been planning to destroy these things form 30 years. Anyone else get this statin=on, andare they runing a "lot" more power then is typical? Terry |
