Anyone familiar with La, Miss. etc knows the states are heavly forested. Especially the northern parts. I heard a news crew say it took them 19 hours to get to the Miss. coast from Atlanta. They had to cut their way through the downed trees across the interstate with a chainsaw to get through. The commissary and BX are toast as is most of family housing and most of the rest of the base. The folks that rode out the storm at Keesler just came out and had their first hot meal since it hit...6000 meals on the first go around. They currently have no phone, land-line or cell, and their runway is the only one open in the area...only daylight, VFR flights allowed.. Bout it, though we get a couple of updates per day. And yes, there are mumblings about doing to Keesler what was done to Homestead, but only mumblings, not even rumors. If you listen to the press, only NO matters. Go figure! I sent my donation to the people of Mississippi. Mine went to all hurricane victims That's great....I'm glad to see you give. I wish everyone would. I'm fortunate. Others aren't. I can't see how I couldn't give. |

They are still victims. If a woman gets raped there is a mentality that she asked for it because she dressed too sexually, or was in the park jogging at night, or she flirted with a guy and he took it as a go signal. Would you say that a woman had the choice of wearing something less sexual and therefore it's her choice to get raped? Or that she shouldn't flirt because she then made a choice to get raped? If I walk outside and get mugged, is it my fault? I made a choice to leave my apartment so it's my fault. I made a choice to live in a not so nice area so it's my fault. ----------------------------- This is where we disagree. It is like the fools that ski out of the safe area, get in trouble and expect "someone" to rescue them. Or climbers whose task excedes there skill, again tehy want someone else to bail them out. 800+K decided to rsik living in a disater waitingto happen. Most had sense enough to flee withthe warnings. Those who didn't, excepting those who where too sick, ill infirm, got what they deserved. Sad, yea but natures a bitch. Way different from a woman getting raped. Nature doesn't rape anyone. It takes the action of a man, OK I guess a few women have raped but damned few, to rape. Tehwoman may have been foolsih, stupid or just ignorant of the danger, but the preditor still decided to rape and foolwed throguh on that action. Big difference between rape and getting washed away, burried in snow or stranded on a mountain. We try and imprison, or execute rapists. We have to bow, or at least pay attention to mother nature. Live below sea level, stay in a storm and drown. Very simple. You can save yourself by LEAVING. Katrina and rape could only be confussed in a liberal's mind. Terry |

Too much whining and bithcing by the truely lame about events thier action, or inaction casued. Yeah, **** those people. Too bad they didn't all die, then we wouldn't have to rebuild. Maybe we could just force them back there and drown them for good. They were poor people, no one would notice. Floods are a LOCAL issue. Exactly. It's time the Federal government got rid of this FEMA thing. It doesn't work and costs us a lot of money. Next time they should just drop shotguns to the "suvivors" and let them shoot it out until they kill everyone. In Dayton OH the 1932(or 33?) floods where bad. What was the name of that Hurricane about a year or so ago and I think
the name of the City in Florida is Port Charlotte that the Hurricane tore up? Not long after that I saw a tomsblogspot (something like that) and some people were blogging/talking away in there and there was something about many of the dead bodies didn't get reported and some fema guys were riding around in that area with a sort of a look on those fema guys faces as if,If you even look at us we will ruin your day! And the people who live in that area were wondering where is the help. cuhulin |
