"Greg" wrote in message ... What does the III model use for tuning? Greg It uses a varactor tuning scheme. The potentiometer that they use for tuning is pretty problematic, and when they get dirty your stations jump around a lot. Add to that the things have atrocious calibration, and cannot be calibrated so that all stations are on the correct spots on the dial. The audio is pretty good, especially for AM when in broadband mode, but you're shooting craps when you buy one, betting on how the sensitivity and calibration will be. With these, you're better off buying a used one with known characteristics. 10-4, thanks. Is the dial calibration better on the II model? Greg |
