There are some basic questions that apply here.

Have you tried different locations in your home?

Have you tried to operate the radio in different locations outside
your home?

Is the DX/Local switch in the DX position?

Can you connect an external antenna? The antenna is the key to most
reception problems.

Your geographical location will affect the operation of your radio.
Where do you live? In a large city? Small town? In the country?

Providing more location info will help to get a solution to your
problem.
