Default Is that a beacon?

What would send repeating cw characters LQ on 381.33kc? theres
actually a bunch of them scattered about down there. I usually don't
go down by them.

LQ, LYNDY NDB, Boston, MA

Runs 100 watts on 382 kHz

There is also an LQ in Springfield, IL on 375 kHz

They are non-directional beacons for aviation use.

There is an "LQ" lowfer beacon listed out of Springfield, Illinois on 375
KHz.

Here's a page with a bunch of LF beacons heard out of Wisconsin; maybe you
can identify more of the ones you're hearing after checking this list:
