Nonsense. "Digital" refers to a system where data is represented by
numbers, I.e., digits.

Is the light switch on the wall "digital"? According to your
definition, it is. While it is binary, having two states, the states do
not represent numbers. It's purely analog.

Binary arithmetic is base 2 digital, but not everything binary is
arithmetic. You've probably heard of binary nerve gas. Is that
digital? The word "binary" just means having two possible states.
Those two states may or may not represent numeric values.

Not everything binary is digital and not everything digital is binary.

You're making a fundamental mistake. You are assigning numbers to
something which does not inherently have any numeric content, and then
calling the *original* thing digital.

Look at it this way: Is the music from a violin digital? No, of course
not. Is the recording of a violin on a CD digital? Yes, of course.
Does that make a violin a digital instrument? If you can figure out the
rationale behind the question, you will then be able to discern what
really is digital and what really is not. Otherwise, just go on calling
all binary things digital and we'll do our best to ignore the error.
