According to the description in the orginal auction where the crook Martyn bought it under the "gottahaveit" ID, the seller only said Rick "checked it out, or went over it" That's a bit different than a refurburshing I've seen Rick do. In fact the closeups of the receiver show that Rick probably didn't do his normal excellent job and all he did was check it out. It's the outrageous BS that Martyn the crook attaches to his auctions that is amazing...and suckers fall for it all the time. The guy is an out right liar and a fraud. His description of this receiver is so wrong in a number of areas! Ebay doesn't care since they still collect fees from him AND Ebay is passive participant in his fraud since it has been documented and reported numerous times. Your original point is well made. Rick Mish should be contacted to verify if Martyn's claims are true. If Martyn is trading off Rick's reputation and the work is NOT as described, Mish can legally have Martyn's ass for fraud, misrepresentation of Mish's work, harm to his reputation, and profiteering on Rick's name without permission. Then have Rick contact eBay about trading on his reputation without permission. THAT will get the job done. Suing Radio-Marty for misrepresentation would be like suing the retarted kid at the playground because he mumbles incoherent stuff about you. Nothing against retarted kids, sorry to compare them with Marty! But a not particularly useful experience for a well-respected professional to to one-up a retarded kid. Tim. Why do you see it that way instead of seeing RadioMart as a calculating predator? Do you have any personal or business relationship to him? I have canceled bids in the past by "gottahaveit(whatever)" on items I had for sale, after I figured out it was him. Selling a radio to him would be about as bright as selling a gun to the retarded kid at the playground. It just isn't worth it. If he were a professional predator, I might devote some effort other than just canceling his bids. But that's not what I see him as. Do you think I'm giving him too much credit, or too little? Probably too much if I bother to type about him here! OMFG. I just looked under "radio-mart" on Ebay and this guy is not the small-timer he was a couple years back. He's got 88 auctions going on just for radios! I believe I will have to re-align my opinions in the near future... not sure where they'll fall but it's clear that he is not the retarded kid on the playground he used to be. He's more like the retarded kingpin of the ****ing mafia! Tim. |

It would be nice if you would think of a better analogy to use instead of picking on people who have no choice of their destiny in life. I have a brother that is mentally handicapped and the best way to deal with people that offend them is to not let it offend you. Most people don't mean to offend and I don't think Tim was trying to be mean, although the analogy was tasteless. Our love for the handicapped people in our lives shouldn't make us hyper sensitive trying to protect them and the real aholes that say stuff to be mean are lonely pathetic souls with bigger issues than any handicapped person we'll ever know. BH- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Brian, your ability to bite your tongue speaks to your unusual self- discipline, but I didn't read Tom's mild comment as anything more than a polite reminder that there are other and better ways to make a point. He didn't wail about how offended he was, or lash out at Tim or call him names. My wife worked with retarded kids for many years--it galls us when we hear kids call each other "retard" or say "that was retarded." Our own son did it when he got to middle-school age. An occasional calm heads-up like Tom's is fine in my book. |

All I'm saying is, It can really give you a workout dealing with peoples statements and behavior on the subject. I can't count the trouble, arguments and scraps I got into as a young man trying to protect my brother and one day he said " Brother don't let it bother you soo much, it doesn't bother me. I've leaned to accept myself and others who are differant and they haven't. We need to set the example for them." My brother is border line autistic and he's like a kid in some ways and a genius in other ways. I've learned a lot from him. BH BH |

So according to you, it's just fine to label people and call them names. Just tell them to not let it bother them. As for your "brother", he speaks with more wisdom and logic than you'll ever know. |
