The skywaves are strong enough this season that almost every night, I can get "Radio Reloj" from Cuba quite clearly on 570 kHz, coming in right on top of local WMCA. And why would "filtered" news form Cuba, listenable only at night under occasional atmospheric conditions, be better than regulr hourly casts on a local NY station? Because it's a good indication of when skywave propagation from the Caribbean is strong. When Radio Reloj kocks out your local station, you know it's time to tune in the Cuban station on 530 for live salsa broadcasts, or tune to 4VEH for musique Zouk. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra.
