Could you show me how to be a high-tech operator like you, nad? http://img478.imageshack.us/img478/5518/scan00031mm.jpg Sure, I'll be happy too, just send me your name and address. I can show you how to set up a neat remote base using a VHF radio and a high speed TCP/IP link to do the job that way you can sit back behind the counter selling your grass seed and yakking on the radio back at the ranch. There are Ethernet to serial converters that plug in to a hub and you don't need a computer at the remote end. The serial ports then connect to the radios and other gear. Using rig control software at the home site all radio functions can be controlled over the Internet. Some antenna rotors are also serial port controllable too to round out the operation. The VHF link is used for the audio. The following sites have a few examples of the converters. http://www.neteon.net/cat.asp?c=3 http://www.rs485.com/pespsx3.html -- Regards, Leland C. Scott KC8LDO |
