Limited to low power units with fixed antennas. Best serve families in small areas and such. Frequencies a 1................... 462.5625 2................... 462.5875 3................... 462.6125 4................... 462.6375 5................... 462.6625 6................... 462.6875 7................... 462.7125 8................... 467.5625 9................... 467.5875 10.................. 467.6125 11.................. 467.6375 12.................. 467.6625 13.................. 467.6875 14.................. 467.7125 http://www.panix.com/~clay/scanning/...cies/frs.shtml GMRS: General Mobile Radio Service: a Licnesed Radio Service with more power and options. Licenses cost about $50.00 from the FCC, the license covers all family members. Formerly a Business Service, now only private licenses are issued, not sure if they have grandfathered older Business users though. For Frequencies see: http://www.gmrsweb.com/gmrstable.html General Info: http://www.gmrsweb.com/gmrsinter.html The colors are often used to identify frequencies pre-set on business radios. Mostly standard but not 100% of the time. Some of the color frequencies are now MURS : Multi-Use Radio Service. MURS is also a license free service, limited to 5w with some limitations on what you can do. Hope this helps. |
