^ Would anyone have the frequencies for medical choppers?
Medical choppers? That's an odd term for surgeons. Frank :^] I used to work with a portly surgeon that looked remarkably like a butcher ... an awfull pun for a surgeon ! But, I digress ... chasing med. choppers via scanner is my speciality ! :^] When leaving or arriving an airport, you'll find them in the air band, so find out where your local chopper's hanger is and listen to that airport's frequencies for departure and arrival. When in route, they will often keep in contact with the local Level 1 trauma center. Here in Milwaukee, that is Froedert Medical Center and they use the 463.185 medical calling channel for the medical info (details about the patient) but also use 129.495 (I think that's it) for non medical info. As they approach the scene of the patient, they contact the local police or fire department on their frequency. Often, you'll find out what freq. that is as they are on route and talking to the trauma center. THen it's back to the medical calling channel, or designated air band freq. as they fly back to the hospital WHat particular city are you interested in??? John Wilke RN WB9UAI Milwaukee |
