It's going to exist along side analogue radio, it won't take its place. I can't understand why shortwave fans, who want to recieve all the information that is on the airwaves, would not be interested in free digital signals. |

For AM IBOC (HD) radio there is significant interference to adjacent channels. If a station on 820 kHz is broadcasting IBOC, stations on 810 and 830 kHz will be difficult to hear due to the digital noise. For those interested in DXing, this is an issue. The digital method used for shortwave is DRM and uses less bandwidth. craigm |

Is it true that you can not understand a DRM transmission with an
analog radio, where with IBOC you still have an analog component to listen to ? Steve |

HD radio transmissions are trashing the band. I already can not hear stations because of that crap. -- Telamon Ventura, California |

![]() Recently, I was listening to an analog radio and found myself longing for the digital signals of the same stations and also wondering what was playing on the HD2 stations. However, I haven't noticed any interference on either AM or FM. My big complaint is that at night, some of the HD stations seem to get weaker and I can't receive them anymore. |

Correction: at night, some of the HD2 stations get weaker and I can't hear them anymore. Currently most if not all stations turn off the digital signal at dusk. It is during the daytime I can't hear distant stations anymore because of the digital crap. -- Telamon Ventura, California |

If it's audio fidelity you're after, you just need an FM radio. No need to fuss with this IBOC crap. This should be an easy fix. |

![]() I've been using the Sangean HD-1 the sound quality is good,on fm and am.I live in columbus ohio area ,we have a few hd radio station most of them are on fm,only 2 for am. Now on my analog radio 1230am at night drifts, it low power station, but on Sangean it comes in great . of course,i notice the station in hd during the day,at night it's not. the only complaint i have is there a switch for news & music- is placed on the rear of the radio,it's hard to get to,it should on the front. also the internal clock loses time, all the time.the sound quality sounds great.
