Could you tell me what area you live in? I wasn't aware any city in the
USA had that
many HD station. I live in a major metropolitan area (St. Louis) and
there are only
about 5 or 6 HD stations. I'm curious. Enlighten me. David N......Also
which HD radio are you using?

Hi. If you have any questions about how this radio works, I will answer

Not interested - buying an HD Radio, is just supporting the HD Radio
Cartel, which will destroy the broadcast bands with IBOC's
adjacent-channel interference hash ! HD Radio will die, from lack of
consumer interest, anyway. Good going !
I experience no adjacent channel interference, even with strong HD
bands right next to weaker, analogue bands. I don't know why you are
spreading this myth.

It happens on FM, and it is a well-know fact on AM, especially at
night, with sky-wave propagation Why, do you think, the FCC has not
authorized IBOC, at night ? Good old iBiquity, destroying the
broadcast bands ! But, there is little interest in HD Radio:

HD Radio is just a blip-on-the-screen ! Only, a few tens-of-thousands
receivers have been sold - there is no consumer interest, in this farseJust a blip on the screen? I receive over 20 HD stations in my area

alone! Many of these stations simulcast more than one station. It is
a great pleasure owning a radio capable of picking up digital as well
as analogue signals.

You contradict yourself. Why am I not shocked.

and it does all that using only 1/100th the power levels of the ancient
analog carrier - AMAZING!

And, it causes all that adjacent-channel interference using only
1/100th the power levels of the analog carrier - AMAZING ! HD Radio
will fail, and the analog will be around forever !HD radio is D-I-G-I-T-A-L - there is no adjacent-channel or any other kind

It is near CD quality at 1/100th the power level of the ancient analog
carrier.- Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -

HD radio is so good that I don't want to listen to even the good
analogue stations anymore. I would compare it to the difference
between TV with rabbit ears and a cable TV signal.

Could you tell me about your HD radio experience? Which HD receiver you
use. Which area you live in, how many stations do you receive? Also
which type antenna you use if any. Thanks. David N.

Unless you are trying to liten to it with an ancient analog radio -
bwahahaha. (watching dxAce putting a CD on his turntable with the speed
set
for 45rpm - LOL)This is a fallacy. IBOC DOES generate adjacent channel (and second adjacent

channel, for that matter) interference. You may be thinking that it doesn't
RECEIVE adjacent channel, but I'm sure that even under some conditions, that
could also be the case, but it definately CAUSES interference to adjacent
and second adjacent analog signals, as has been demonstated in the field
many times now.

I live in the DC area. There are 21 HD FM stations some of which
multicast. I get 19 clearly. There are 2 HD AM stations, both of which
I get. I use the telescopic FM antenna and the Select-A-Tenna AM
antenna. However, the included AM loop antenna works pretty good by
itself.

Could you tell me the details of your HD experience? Which HD receiver
you use, which antenna, how many HD stations in your area, also what
area you're in?
Could you direct me to a website that has a current list of USA HD
FM stations?
Thanks, David N

some of the HD stations seem to get weaker and I can't receive them
anymore.

If it's audio fidelity you're after, you just need an FM radio. No need
to fuss with this IBOC crap. This should be an easy fix.

I've been using the Sangean HD-1 the sound quality is good,on fm and
am.I live in columbus ohio area ,we have a few hd radio station most of
them are on fm,only 2 for am. Now on my analog radio 1230am at night
drifts, it low power station, but on Sangean it comes in great . of
course,i notice the station in hd during the day,at night it's not. the
only complaint i have is there a switch for news & music- is placed on
the rear of the radio,it's hard to get to,it should on the front. also
the internal clock loses time, all the time.the sound quality sounds
great. Robert
