On 6.165, is this still the right time (1000 UCT) and freq? I have yet
to pu the
09 Passport. Booming here in the Nati' at a 3 on the meter but
extremely clear.

I am starting to think increasing the height by 10 ft. has been
really
helpfull. Isn't there basically a height as to which the increase of
signal pickup stops? I remember reading that some time back.

The Alpha Delta DX sloper is now at exactly 55ft. high. :-) Looks
pretty cool driving up to the house and seeing that along with the
Beam antenna at 40 ft. and the HUGEEEE Channel Master antenna at
50ft.
along with two scanner antennas hooked to the mast of the Channel
Master

Weeell, first of all where basically are you geographically?

I'd jump to a conclusion that you're somewhere in North America.

But Bolivia on 6165 at 1000 UTC would be pushing limits with 1 kW
under current propagation conditions, regardless of receiver and
antenna.

You must have monitored aome sort of programming content? And as
you're plumping for Bolivia, I presume in Spanish?

Any hints from programming for us? An hour later at 1100 UTC and I'd
say Radio Nederland in Spanish.- Hide quoted text -

I sincerely doubt you're hearing Bolivia...

I sincerely doubt that you've the experience, knowledge or equipment to express
an opinion on this one way or the other.

And, contrary to what "Nobody" stated, 1000 would be *precisely* the time frame
to be listening currently for that elusive Bolivian (Radio Logos) on or near
6165, 1 kW or not, provided one has the requisite equipment.

And please take a look at the followup posting I made on the thread
"R. Santa Cruz"...

Trying to keep up these posts. In the 08 Passport, it says that the
transmission is 5 kw. Is it different now and at only 1 kw?

Guess you'd have to ask them just what power they're running the transmitter at.

I'll also throw this in. Until I read what Steve said I never knew
Bolivia was "elusive." I just listen and spin the dial (when it's
shortwave)...if I get curious as to what I am hearing then I look it
up.

Now, the BCB is another thing, I have an idea what is "elusive"
there.:-)

I was referring of course to the station, not the country ;-)

I think you can blame me for labelling it as 1kW (as per the 2007
WRTH) and same on Freq Spotters website:

http://www.freqspotter.com/search.ph... =6165&page=3

But apparently they have two tx's:

http://www.dxing.info/community/view...php?f=8&t=1990

Still waiting for my 2009 WRTH.

Which is fine as long as you "hear" something that backs up the
listing info.

BCBlazysusan's original post relied entirely on looking up PTWR and
observing that the only listing meant that was what was being heard...
which isn't conclusive at all.

dxAce matches my observations with R. Santa Cruz on 6134.8 and
Aparecida/6135 but he hasn't been able to confirm Logos on 6165.

And 2 a.m. PST/1000Z is in the middle of this dude's zzzz's!

Now, the BCB is another thing, I have an idea what is "elusive"
there.:-)

Not heard them yet, and I'm wondering if they are currently missing in action?

They also use 4865v.
