see one western fast food place, the cameras simply didn't show it.

country I would definitely try about everything just to see what it's
like.

They use the bean paste in one of my favorite foods here. It's not really
Korean, they serve it at "Chinese" restaurants, but it's not really Chinese,
either. It's called khan ja jang. It's a sort of very heavy soup (as
served) made from egg noodles and a concoction of (soy) bean paste, bits of
beef, onion, soy beans (they look like peas), and various spices. It's
really quite good. They also use the bean paste in Korea's version of
sticky rolls. I prefer the Japanese style with BBQ pork in them.

If you want a real trip for great food on the street corner, go to Thailand.
There, they have motorcycles (and some bicycles, too) with little kitchens
attached to the side (propane stove and grill). They each sort of specialize
in a few similar items, to keep the ingredients to a minimum. The best ones
make noodle dishes with bits of pork or beef (very popular are the ones that
make dishes with seafood, mostly prawns and shrimp). Many make some very
good soups, but you had best be wearing your flameproof undies... LOL. Lots
of Thai food that I really love. Next, I want to try Vietnamese and real
Indian food. May even try the Halal restaurant I saw in Seoul last week, as
long as they have something besides lamb dishes.
