Tags are on.I don't tote that stuff around with me though, because I
don't tote. That chain used to grab on to my neck hairs, so I toted that
stuff in my wallet.

Yeah Cuhlin, I have the big and smaller one.
I have about eight little 'tools' I carry on a
airplane mechanics cable on my carabiner.

It's funny how useful those little tools have been
for me over the years. This is the website, pretty
good company, cheap prices, you never know
when you'll need something like what they carry.

Check them out, you'll enjoy the videos.:-)

I Earned my P-38, it was given to me in boot camp at Fort Gordon,Georgia
in 1962.The reason it is called P-38 is because it takes 38 clicks to
open the average size C-Rations can. (C-Rats)
Of course, those P-38 Aircraft were Great too.

Speaking of Dog Tags,,, www.vietnamdogtags.com

The notch on some Dog Tags was for indexing them properly on the
machines which were used for stamping the letters and numbers on the
tags.

Doggy wears a little brass heart shaped Dog Tag on her collar. It says,,,
20 03
RABIES VACC.
ANIMAL MEDICAL CENTER
995 SOUTH FRONTAGE ROAD
JACKSON,MS 39204
601 - 354 - 3622
019500

Doggy Earned her Dog Tag because I made sure she got all of the required
vaccinations.

I have a Swing-a-Way with a big crank screwed to the wall.

I don't get the "minimalist" angle; who backpacks with cans?

Ah, no, Dave. he's talking about the little can opener, we
all carried in Nam. it came with the C's. i carried one on my
car keys for years, back in the world. after the little clip,
that keeps the claw in broke, i got bite in the leg too many
times. it's with a few other P-38's, and some of the other
crap i brought home. i still have my last Short-timer's
calendar, and my stick. also have 25 or 30 ID coins.

MREs require no cans. I just get Indian food in sterilized pouches.
Much cheaper and lighter.
