did. You need to refresh your memory with some top-notch history
books because none of them had free rides, i.e. Ike's U2 spy plane
affair, JFK's Bay of Pigs fiasco, Johnson's Vietnam mess, Nixon's
Watergate, Ford's inconsequentialism, Reagan's Iran Contra affair,
Bush I's S&L collapse and subsequent recession, Clinton's moment with
Lewinsky, and that's just scraping the very surface of things for each
of them.
